Every day clients tell me about their problems, often in great detail, and I’ve noticed patterns that show up over and over. For many people, life’s problems are viewed as “not enough money” or “not enough time”. For couples, the problems are often around “communication” or “parenting” or sex. They think if they only had more money or more time or better sex or a better job, things would be wonderful.
But it doesn’t work that way, because these things are not the BIG PROBLEM. From my experience, I suggest life’s really big problems are:
1. Tunnel Vision. The tendency to focus only on the immediate crisis or sore spot. Under stress, things look worse or more complex than they really are. The solution: Perspective. Ask if it will matter in 6 months. Ask what else is going on? How did I create this situation and, in an ideal world, what would I like to do about it?
2. Fear. The anxiety or terror that things will go badly, that we will fail or be embarrassed. The solution: Humor and Curiosity. Modern life has very few saber-tooth tigers. The situation is rarely life or death. Ask, What’s the worst that can happen? What’s the best? What can I learn? What would I do if I had no fear?
3. Confusion. The sense of being lost or unclear about our direction. The sense that we don’t know our own priorities anymore. The solution: Responsible Choices. Choose your values and priorities and set your own path. Your life is yours. Check your moral compass, pick a direction and do something extraordinary!
4. Guilt. The belief that we have hurt or failed or sinned and deserve punishment. Guilt is either accurate, because sometimes we do behave badly, or it is false and simply an illusion. The solution: If we have transgressed, we must make restitution, ask forgiveness, learn from our error and move on. If it is false guilt, set it down as an unnecessary and irrational burden.
5. Shame. The belief that we are worth-less than others, that we have a terrible, incurable flaw. It is not that we have done something wrong (guilt), but that we are bad or wrong. The solution: Clear, rational thinking. Everyone has behaved badly, but no one was created badly! Any flaws only serve to make you stronger, more heroic or more compassionate toward others.
6. Loneliness. The belief that no one loves us, that no one cares and we must desperately cling to anyone who finds us attractive or acceptable. This creates dependency, not intimacy. The solution: Accurate Self-Assessment. Not everyone will love you, but many people will if they meet you, get to know you, and spend time working/playing along side you.
7. Resentment. Holding anger and refusing to move beyond real or imagined mistreatment in the past. Some people spend their whole lives as “victims”, nurturing a terrible event in their past. The solution: Let go! Life is not fair and people do not always behave well or kindly. Use your trauma to make you wise, kind, gentle, and strong. Holding anger will not work.
8. Self-Doubt. The repeated, endless questioning of your own abilities, opinions or actions. The inability to take a stand, to act boldly, or to follow-through. The solution: Action! Think clearly, then take action and follow-through. Start small, but do it! You are the world’s expert on your life! Use your wisdom to live well.
9. Stubbornness. The refusal or inability to re-assess a situation, change your mind, or admit you were wrong. The solution: Wisdom and Humility. Only a fool stays on a course that is headed for disaster! Search for new and better information, remain flexible, open and creative. When the situation changes, adjust accordingly and set a new course.
10. Addiction. Humans become addicted to drugs, but we also become addicted to our jobs, our opinions or our lifestyle. We can be addicted to people and need them rather than love them. The solution: Take a vacation! Periodically, walk in someone else’s shoes. Break your habits, re-arrange your schedule, delegate those things that only you can do “right”. Use habits and traditions to set you free, don’t let habits enslave you!

There are many, many styles of glasses that you can find out on the market today that are designed to fit everyones personality and personal sense of style. The two main competing styles that you will find are big framed eyeglasses and small framed eyeglasses. In a sense, this can almost be broken down to be more of a “modern” style versus a more “old school” style.
When we take a look at the size of frames, traditionally eyeglasses have been created with larger frames. This stems back to decades of past design. The advantages of larger frames is the fact that you have more lens in front of your eyes allowing you to simply see more through the lenses. This is especially helpful for those that have multi-prescrition eyeglasses, such as bi-focul or tri-focul lenses.
However, if we go further back in time, to when glasses were first created for those that needed an aid to see, we see that the design of frames back in those early days were rather small. It is interesting how we see small framed lenses today, and veiw them as looking modern and fashionable, when in reality these small frames we like now, are just a continuation of the eyeglasses of the past.

Only you can answer what happiness is and what it really means to you. However, here are a few self development tips that have made life happier for many other people and who knows; maybe they could serve as at least some of the ingredients in a recipe for happiness for you too.
Stay young at heart
Regardless of your age, if you start acting too old, you will actually not benefit yourself at all. Studies have shown that people who act old, feel old, and can actually suffer from problems before their time. Do not be afraid to be youthful, within reason. The next time you see a man in his seventies, running a marathon or a woman keeping up in aerobic class, you can see that by refusing to give into age, they are healthier and live much longer lives.
Meditate
Find some time just for you, away from noise and distractions. Meditation can come in many forms. Whatever way you meditate, ensure that you are in a quiet place with soft lighting, sit with good posture and in a comfortable position, practice slow, rhythmic breathing, and concentrate on something calm and relaxing. Meditation is a great stress reducer, which is vital for good health.
Keep a positive attititude
A negative attitude can have a negative impact on your health just as a positive attitude can affect your health in a positive manner. Living well has a direct correlation with a positive outlook. Keep smiling and try to find the good in life, even when things are tough.
Make time for intimacy
If you are married, be sure to make time for intimacy in your relationship. Sex is a great stress reducer and keeps a marriage happy. Sex is healthy act that should be enjoyed.
Stretch Your Mind
When you stretch your body in preparation for exercise as well as after exercise, you need to stretch your mind as well. You might be wondering how and why. When your mind is relaxed, your body follows. To achieve a relaxed mind, listen to soothing music, relax your breathing, and use visualization techniques such as Yoga. Another exercise discipline that is very popular and works is the Pilates program.

No, You Don’t Know What You Are Selling – Yet!
You know your product, its features and its benefits. You have a well-rounded presentation that explains all of this, complete with visual aids. So why waste a prospect’s time with chitchat? Shouldn’t you launch straight into your presentation?
No, you shouldn’t, and here’s why. No matter how good it is, your generic presentation casts your product or service as a commodity, not as a solution to the particular customer. Customers don’t care about your products; they care about their own problems and opportunities. They want to know that you understand their problems before you start talking about how your wares can “solve” them.
You think you have a cool product presentation? So does every competitor you’ve got.
When salespeople understand their customer’s needs before presenting their products, the presentation can be tailored to hit specific hot buttons. This also avoids many objections that commonly arise later in the sales cycle.
To find out “what to sell,” you need to exercise good questioning skills and gather information about the customer. The things you want to know fall into four categories:
Need: Ask open-ended questions to uncover problems and opportunities likely to be addressed by your products and service. Examples: “What is the biggest problem with the current method you’re using?” “What are the consequences of not solving this problem?”
Company Issues: What is the customer’s company or department trying to accomplish with this buying decision and why is it important? “What goals has your company set regarding this?” “What will it mean to the company if you are successful?”
Personal Issues: What’s at stake for the customer himself/herself – professionally or personally? “What will it mean to you if these goals are achieved?”
Money Issues: Find out about the budget that exists for the purchase or how the expenditure would be justified. “What kind of budget have you established for this project?” Or, “What areas would you look at to justify a purchase like this?”
Once you know this, you are in a position to present your product as a solution, not just one more alternative in a sea of commodities. Instead of a classic data dump, your presentation now can be aimed at specific needs that this customer actually cares about.
In The Field:
Why do so many salespeople launch straight into their product presentations before investigating their customers’ needs? Usually it’s because they’re flying by the seat of their pants. They lack a strategic framework to follow throughout the entire sales cycle. Sadly, delivering a canned presentation is all they really know how to do.
An account executive with Delta Industrial in Minneapolis, MN, recently summed up the advantages of adopting a coherent, unified, step-by-step approach to the sales process. “The most important thing the Action Selling Sales Training has done for me,” he said, “is to really make me think and strategize about what I am trying to accomplish in every sales call in order to move the process forward.”
Duane Sparks is chairman and founder of The Sales Board, a Minneapolis-based sales training company that has trained and certified more than 200,000 salespeople in the system and skills of Action Selling. He has personally facilitated more than 300 Action Selling training sessions.
In a 30-year career as a salesperson and sales manager, Duane has sold products ranging from office equipment to insurance. He was the top salesperson at every company he ever worked for. He developed Action Selling Sales Training while owner of one of the largest computer marketers in the United States. Even in the roaring computer business of the 1980’s, his company grew six times faster than the industry norm, differentiating itself not by the products offered but by the way it sold them. Duane founded The Sales Board in 1990 to teach the skills of Action Selling to others.

Every (and I do mean EVERY) human potential success coach from
the most famous to the little known conclude, that habits hold the
key to success or failure.
According to the dictionary, a habit is an acquired pattern of
behavior that has become almost involuntary as a result of frequent
repetition.
Our habits dictate the quality of life we experience. If you
procrastinate, talk negatively to yourself and allow fear to rule,
you are going to have a very stressful life overflowing with anxiety
and sadness. I know, because that is where I’ve come from.
The key to creating lasting positive results in any area of your life,
must first start with changing the way you think before changing the
way you act.
Here are the top three bad habits that effect most of us
at some time in our lives.
1. Fear (Yes fear is a habit!)
It is said F.E.A.R stands for “False Evidence Appearing Real” and
after a lifetime of confronting just about every fear I can think
of, fear of success, fear of failure, fear of letting me be me…
I can tell you for certain that living in fear is the worst habit
of them all. It is the root of all other bad habits like
smoking, overeating, addictions etc. (Fear is the enemy of
inspiration and motivation.)
No matter what changes you want to make in your life you are
going to feel some degree of fear. But I can tell you from
experience that the secret is to feel the fear and take action anyway.
Action defeats fear!
2. Negative self-talk
I am also guilty of this self-inflicted punishment as well.
I have come to discover that humans are in fact self
fulfilling prophecies and that our thoughts do matter.
The problem is that most of us don’t consciously use negative
self talk, it ends up becoming more like a mantra or a label we
brand ourselves with.
For Example:
I used to call my self a lot of things, a procrastinator, fat,
shy and I would follow it up whenever someone challenged me
with a reinforcing, “That’s just the way I am.”
Although I thought I was just poking fun at myself, I realize
after years of unconscious repetition that negative self-talk
was one of the main things holding me back from following my
heart and creating the life of my dreams.
3. Procrastination
Up until a few months ago you could look this word up in the
dictionary and see my picture. I would beat myself up night
after night for not following through with a phone call or an
article idea. I would wait until the last minute to do anything,
then become so stressed out that I wasn’t much fun to be around.
Overcoming the negative habit of procrastination can truly
change your life. When you learn to take action as soon as the
mood strikes and stop when the feeling is gone, you will find after
just a few weeks of inspired action that you have begun to create
something of value. Practice anything with conscious awareness and
specific intent for 21 days and you will amaze yourself. I promise!
It is worth taking the steps to replace the habits that have been
holding you back from living a richer more fulfilling life. If I can
do it, anyone can.
My 6th grade teacher dragged me into the hall by my hair, looked me
in the eye, pounded his finger in my chest and told me I was stupid
and would never amount to anything…
…See Mr. McCarthy I’m not stupid.

We all have questions about our lives, directions, and destinies. It is the curiosity of the unknown that intrigues us to ask of the future. It is the stress of the present and events of the past that cause us to wish for a future. But, under circumstances and with events that create stresses and distortions, our questions, demands, and wishes can create a future that is specifically implemented to answer our questions.
The future is not written in stone, but is instead etched on a napkin based on the events of the present. When we ask a question, issue a wish, or make a demand of the Universe, it listens closely. It then establishes the path and creates a future for us to receive the necessary answer.
Of course, we only ask questions based on our past experiences. In many cases we ask general, non-specific questions, while in others we are specific of objectives not in line with our desires and vision. We tend to focus on the past to query for a future, which produces yet another path to answer questions for long past events. As we ask, we experience, and we learn. If we don’t learn, then we ask the same questions and live the same experiences.
One of the common questions I hear is, “Why is life so hard?” That question, along with the accompanying thoughts and energies, creates a future to show the hard life, and its reasons, to provide the answer. We experience what we ask and demand. A better question would be, “How do I create a successful life?” This question, with its energies and thoughts, will create a future to show the path to success.
It is not so much that the Universe takes the time to tend to our questions, demands, and wishes. It is the energies that we produce as we think and query that creates the circumstances in our future. To pose the right queries and demands, think of the future and how to get there in the manner you desire — as opposed to considering the past and how to avoid certain events and circumstances.
Past energies are negative with respect to future goals and objectives and they create situations such that cause fears come to fruition. Future energies are positive and they support the abstract space to create the wishes and desires we long for. However, so many are unacquainted with future energies that they immediately worry that a past event is about to occur as a result of a positive future event — this to keep balance. However, true balance is at your fingertips and cuddled in your desires and vision. Expecting to relive past events as predestined balance will create circumstance to relive those events.
Although it is easier to oscillate at a lower energy in a comfort zone than to examine the possibilities of an unknown, yet pliable, future, plan to balance and take control of your life. Define your adjustable future by creating your present. Learn to manifest positive destinies by issuing positive questions and demands of the Universe. Be knowledgeable, be specific, and be direct in your questions and demands as it all comes down to the fact that we truly get what we ask for.

You hear it regularly, and in your heart you know it’s true. Yesterday is over and done with, and tomorrow may never come. So all you really have is right here, right now.
There’s a difference between looking forward to a future event and wishing away your life between now and that future time. One gives you a positive focus for moving forward and the other completely robs you of the ability to enjoy the journey. If life were all about the destination, none of us would experience more than fleeting moments of happiness. By learning to enjoy the process of day to day living, working towards your goals, appreciating the small pleasures and even the terrible lessons we experience along the way, we can develop an awareness of a much more sustainable type of happiness.
Similarly, worrying about potential future events also makes it impossible to be happy in the present moment. And the great shame about this is that your worry won’t prevent that awful thing happening. And as it hasn’t yet happened you owe it to yourself to relax and make the most of what is going on right now. When you catch yourself feeling anxious about the future, stop and ask yourself these questions:
Is this future event that I’m worried about a certainty or a possibility?
If it’s a certainty, is there anything I can do right now to help alleviate the situation?
Does stressing myself out about it now help in any way?
It is important to make plans for the future, but to live in the present. In order to reach your destination, you need to take action in the present. Living too much in the future might mean you have tonnes of plans, but nothing to show for them, and goals that are never achieved.
Here are some tips on how to become more present-moment oriented:
Every day, take some time out: close your eyes, breath deeply and feel every muscle in your body relax by mentally working your way from your face all the way down your body
Ask yourself: what do I need to do now?
Check in with yourself regularly throughout the day and become aware of how you’re feeling. What can you do to improve that if you need to?
Remind yourself every day to enjoy the journey.

Unsecured loans are granted to individuals who possess good credit standing. This is why lending companies conduct credit checks.
An unsecured loan is a type of loan that does not require the loan applicant to have his house or property or stocks or assets be attached as collateral. When any of these are attached as collateral, the owner faces the risk of losing the collateral if he doesn’t pay loaned amount. Fortunately, there is no collateral required for unsecured loans. This makes the unsecured loan a less risky loan than secured loans.
If unsecured loans are not risky for the borrower, these same loans are risky for the lending companies. When the borrower defaults payment, the lending company will have nothing that will cover the value of the loan. To reduce the risk, lending companies choose to grant unsecured loans to borrowers who have good credit standing and, to determine if a borrower has a good credit standing, the lending company performs a credit check.
What is a credit check?
A credit check is done to determine the credit history of a person. This credit check yields a rating, on which the lending companies base their decision to either grant or disapprove a loan. Most of the time, the credit rating is accurate. People who never had any credit issue will have no problems with their credit ratings. But for people who have encountered credit issues, there might be some mistakes reflected on the credit check.
Thus, it is a good idea for a person intending to apply for an unsecured loan to have an idea of his own credit rating. If there are mistakes in his credit history, he has the opportunity to have it corrected before a lending company obtains a copy of his credit rating.
How is a credit check carried out?
Usually, the financing agency or lending company contacts a credit reference agency which will perform a search on the financial history of the loan applicant. The credit reference agency utilizes the applicant’s name and all his personal addresses to perform the search.
When a lending company requests for a credit check, the credit reference agency records the request. This means that the agency will know how many times a person’s credit history has been checked by lending companies. At the same time, the lending company has an obligation to inform the loan applicant that a credit check has been requested.
Can people with bad credit obtain unsecured loans?
Unfortunately, only a good credit standing can help a person obtain an unsecured loan. But there are several lending companies that allow unsecured loans for people who have less than perfect credit standing. Obviously, such loans offer shorter terms and higher interest rates. But a person with a bad credit may still obtain other kinds of loans aside from unsecured loans.
