Big Frames vs. Small Framed Glasses

Posted by admin in Uncategorized

There are many, many styles of glasses that you can find out on the market today that are designed to fit everyones personality and personal sense of style. The two main competing styles that you will find are big framed eyeglasses and small framed eyeglasses. In a sense, this can almost be broken down to be more of a “modern” style versus a more “old school” style.

When we take a look at the size of frames, traditionally eyeglasses have been created with larger frames. This stems back to decades of past design. The advantages of larger frames is the fact that you have more lens in front of your eyes allowing you to simply see more through the lenses. This is especially helpful for those that have multi-prescrition eyeglasses, such as bi-focul or tri-focul lenses.

However, if we go further back in time, to when glasses were first created for those that needed an aid to see, we see that the design of frames back in those early days were rather small. It is interesting how we see small framed lenses today, and veiw them as looking modern and fashionable, when in reality these small frames we like now, are just a continuation of the eyeglasses of the past.
