Self-build is a phrase that is getting ever-popular in the housing market. Hold on, what exactly is “self-build”? It’s a property you build yourself. Not quite literally by yourself, but you place yourself in the position as architect, planner, foreman of your property and let trained workers do the job you tell them to do. More individuals are opting for the “self-build” route – as a matter of fact, there are more self-builders in the UK than the total number of houses being developed by any single developer. The purpose of self-build is to produce a property to your exact specifications, not a boiler-plate design that commercial developers use.
I know what you’re thinking: “I can’t plan, and manage a house build”. The good news is that self-build doesn’t mean you necessarily have to get stuck in with the actual development (as a matter of fact, just 5% of self-builders in reality take a role in the actual building of the property). Even the design aspects are often finalised by a professional designer. Self-build, generally, is about you articulating (in laymen’s terms), what you want to the house designer – who then produces a plan dependent on your prerequisites. This plan then becomes the draft the developers follow. Now do you see? You don’t need to have any proactive engagement in self-build. Even so, the DIY enthusiast can use self-build as a chance to save some dosh by helping out with the aspects of self-build they have experience in – it’s your shout as to how much engagement you want during the construction.
Self-build sounds pricy, but in reality it’s by and large cheaper than buying an already developed property of identical specifications (up to 30% cheaper). That’s not all, self-built houses sell very well too – as much as 25% higher than the development costs, so you can view self-build also as a means to invest your money, rather than just a home to live in
You must ensure the group of workers you select are 100% competent and that they can work as a team. Without doubt, you will require workers with lots of experience, particularly with specific types of building machinery, such as floor saws, wall saws with diamond blades, angle grinders, masonry saws and stihl saws. With a skillful gang, you are also maximizing the safety levels of the build.
This article is just an introduction to the concept of building a home by yourself, and I trust it will encourage those of you who are intimidated by the thought of planning a project of this kind of size. It needn’t take up all of your time, and you won’t need house building / designing skills, but you will need to be cautious as to who you employ, and you will need to cautiously work out the budget of the project.

No matter what event you are planning, one of the most important decorating items you need are the table cloths. Whether a casual neighborhood cook out or the most formal wedding reception, they put the finishing touch on the event. It is easy to always have the ideal table cloth for any occasion because they are offered in a variety of prints and colors.
If you are the type of individual who cares to celebrate each holiday with decorations, then themed table cloths are a great way to make this a reality. Ring in the New Year right with an Arabesque print table cloth. Demonstrate just how patriotic you are on July 4th with a Flag or Stars N’ Stripes table cloth. As Halloween draws close, consider a Boo or Spider Web printed table cloth. Serve a Thanksgiving gobbler on a table cloth such as Fall Festival. Use napkins and an apron made from a print like Falling Leaves. At Last, round out the year with a Jingle table cloth, Evergreen table napkins, Season’s Greetings placemats or even a Snow Flurry print Christmas tree skirt. Alter your style as often as you need to. With so many unique selections to select from, it’s not necessary to resolve to use the same cloth year after year. Table cloths are a great way to demonstrate to your family and guests that you gave a great amount of thought to both the holiday and how your home looks.
Throwing a theme party? Table cloths come in a variety of prints making it easy to match every theme you have. Prints such as Newport or Anchors Aweigh are great to use for an event with a nautical theme while South Pacific, Toucan or Key Largo can be used for a luau. Liven up your weekly poker night with a Casino print table cloth or a monthly garden club meeting using a Birds and Butterflies table cloth. Once you choose to use a theme print for the table cloth itself then consider co-ordinating with colored linen napkins or placemats and your tables are sure to be the hit of the party. Preparing a beautiful table indicates to your guests that you really care that they are there.
When it comes to a special occasion such as a graduation, prom or wedding you should look at renting your table cloths. A conventional approach might have you complementing school colors or the color scheme of the wedding with table linens made of 100% spun or woven polyester. Plan your event with a more modern feeling by renting table cloths in Awning Stripe, Lace, Sheer Stripe or Polka Dot. But don’t quit there. Renting table napkins, place mats, table skirts or even chair covers is a great way to round out and complete your party’s look. The use of table cloths and table linens make it appear like no detail was forgotten – providing you with a reputation as the most organized host or hostess.

Everyday is gets more hard in these times of recession and economic gloominess.,There are compelling reasons in the existing financial mood to look at all the Some Cash ISAs move at a variable rate tracking the base rate that is set by the Bank of England. Yet, new dramatic reductions in base rate have seen interest rates dip to a historical low. In this low rate environment, it means that it could be time for savers to consider a Fixed Rate Cash ISA, which ensures a rate for a set time period. If a Cash ISA is right for you it is a tax-free savings account.,It is a very attractive option for individuals who want to save. You invest your money into a Cash ISA much like a normal savings account but the interest will not be liable to capital gains tax (CGT) or personal income tax liability. However, it is all important to understand that your tax free cash allowance is limited to £3,600 every tax year.
Different products allow you to place your money in an ISA in the form of a one-off lump sum of money, multiple lump amounts or smaller regular payments. Although the sum you can save each year is limited to £3600, any amount you tuck away retains its tax free status, permitting you to grow your tax free balance each year. However, if you resolve not to utilise your allowance in one tax year, you cannot roll it over to the next – so basically use it or lose it! So ensure that you tuck away any sum for the 08/09 tax year before the new tax year begins in April.
A fixed rate deal can offer protection during unsettled financial times. By acting quickly you can set the rate on your savings to receive the healthiest deal possible during the latest financial downturn. There is an excellent opportunity here for those members of the public who are keen to make the most of thier cash.

Yes, you do have a larger purpose in life — and here’s how to discover what it is.
Did you know that you have big things to accomplish in life?
And did you know that those big things are getting rather dusty while you pour yourself another cup of coffee, and decide to mull things over rather than do them?
Welcome to your Soul Purpose in life – the gift that you, and you alone, are here to give.
I contend that we were all born with a gift to give in life, one which informs all of our desires, interests, passions and curiosities. This gift is, in fact, our Soul Purpose. Yet, that Purpose is not task, or career oriented. It’s actually much bigger than that, for it’s born in our soul.
Your Soul Purpose is not about making money, gaining status, or staking out a claim to fame. Rather, it’s an act of kindness and love that you offer to other people, simply because this is what you’re here to do.
For instance, if you love nature deeply, and you love to teach elementary kids, perhaps your Soul Purpose has to do with ‘Putting children in touch with the nurturing power of nature’ or “Spreading respect for the earth.”
If you are drawn to military history, and the part that really gets you going most is what is learned from each war, perhaps your purpose is “To teach others the lessons of war”. Please note that your Soul Purpose is probably not “To write the definitive book on World War II” or “To become the most respected authority on 20th Century Europe conflicts.” Your purpose always boils down to an act of benevolence, for it springs from your soul, which is, more often than not, a kind and nurturing place.
So how do you tap into this purpose that you supposedly have … especially if you haven’t a clue at the moment what it might be?
I’ve found the most reliable method is to go within, crawling deep into your psyche to a resting place that is rich with your own personal wisdom. And the only way to get there is through meditation. Do enough of it, and eventually you can summon up just about any aspect of your spiritual or soul-oriented self. (I know — I used to meditate for a few hours every day, and found all kinds of interesting things lurking around in there!)
Should you be a self-starter, or an experienced meditator, you may simply want to sit in seated meditation and ask your psyche to take you within to the place of your Soul Purpose so you can learn more. Be sure to keep notebook at hand, and create a soothing, uninterrupted mood for this work. It takes time and patience, but it can be done. Once you begin this process of asking, be alert to clues and suggestions that pop up in day to day life. Once your focus is on your Soul Purpose, even in a sub-conscious way, life does tend to provide insights.
Mind you, again, it doesn’t always happen fast and the results aren’t always obvious or clear. One may do this meditation only to find that confusing or complex images pop up – and it may take weeks or months to make full sense of them. When I learned my own Soul Purpose in 1985, it seemed blatantly wrong … until fifteen years later, when I suddenly looked up and discovered that I was living exactly that purpose.
The quest for the Soul Purpose is one of intention and desire. If you want to find out badly enough, clarity and reconfirmation will kick in and you’ll suddenly have a great sense of knowledge about your life. You will see the bigger picture, and be able to make choices accordingly. You will no longer question odd impulses or gut instincts that lead you in uncommon directions. Instead, you’ll trust their wisdom, and you’ll be inspired. You’ll have the grace of your Soul-Spirit connection to guide you, each loving step of the way.
It’s worth it to spend some time within getting clarity on this important life road map. Then you, too, can look up one day and realize with great satisfaction that you are, indeed, living your Soul Purpose.

Hayling Island
Hayling Island is a small Island that is united with the mainland merely by a bridge on the Solent coast.
This splendid island is called home by a mere 16,900 people who enjoy the miles of shore lines edging the Solent. The traditional Seaside feel is a perfect back drop for sailing, Swimming, Kite Surfing and Wind Surfing.
Boasting 2 churches St Peters built in 1140 and St Marys which dates back to the 13th Century. A trip to the Life Boat Station and Museum situated on Sandy Point explains the bravery and story, whilst the scenes across to the entrance of Chichester harbour may be enjoyed and perhaps captured..
Or if you fancy a round or 2 why not tee off at the Haying Island Golf Club, founded in 1865, the 18 holes will examine any golfer, set in a brilliant location looking out across the Solent towards the Isle Of Wight, complete with Club House and of course the 19th Hole.
Or possibly the engrossing treasures on display at the Royal Marines Museum won’t fail to impress, with their displays of Landing Craft, Uniforms, Silver and Manuscripts dating back centuries. Or be transferred back in time with a visit to Southsea Castle built on the say so of Henry V111, now home to a fascinating Museum and to the fabulous Over Lord Tapestry which commemorates D Day

Electronic muscle stimulators are the latest craze, the hottest fad… but you want to know “do they really work!” Right?
To answer that question, let’s start with a little background information on what this equipment was originally designed for.
Electric ab stimulators were (and still are) used in medical rehab situations. They are designed to keep muscles from atrophying (wasting away) in situations where a limb must be immobilized. For example, if you broke your leg, the doctor could place an electrode on the muscle and use electricity to make it contract. This would provide a minimum level of stimulation, thus keeping the muscle active.
As far as building muscle, such as the ads on TV claim, this is not backed up by research. The level of electrical stimulation necessary to build up the abdominal muscles to what you see on TV would be extremely high, and thus very painful.
Many companies that sell these belts also claim that the belts help burn fat. In reality, the small muscle contractions produced by these belts burn about as many calories as the effort required to take the belt out of the box and put the batteries in.
If you read the fine print in these ads, you will also notice that the instructions for use also include a suggested exercise and nutrition plan. This, without a doubt, would be the true source of the results people get from this equipment.
But what about people you may know who have tried the belts and say that they feel something when they use it?
Let’s put it this way… the belt does provide a small level of stimulation to the abdominal muscles. When a person’s abs are totally lacking any form of stimulation, any amount of stimulation has the potential to produce results. It is simply a matter of something is better than nothing (in this case, not a whole lot better, though).
A much better solution for working your abdominal muscles effectively is to do the unglamorous crunch exercise. It may not send electric shocks into your guts but it will get the job done. Crunches, even done properly and regularly, won’t burn fat but they will definitely tighten up your abs.
For detailed instructions on how to do the crunch most efficiently visit:
http://www.fitstep.com/Library/Exercises/Crunches.htm
Do electric ab stimulators work? In a nutshell, no. These companies are simply preying upon society’s desire for results without effort. Don’t be fooled by the hype.

The holidays are upon us. It is the best time to teach your family about caring for others. In the midst of all the holiday madness, there are so many people who need and deserve your help, and it can be so easy to do.
One easy idea is to contribute to Christmas Child. This program is run by an evangelical Christian group, Samaritan’s Purse. All you have to do is fill a shoe box with small gifts for either a boy or a girl. Good things to include are small toys, school supplies, soaps, toothbrushes, or just about anything small that will benefit the child. They do ask for a $5 contribution to help them ship the box. For more information, visit http://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.asp?section=Operation+Christmas+Child.
You can also consider donating to your local food bank. They need so much more than just creamed corn, of course. Talk with your children about the foods that make the holidays special to them, and how families with less would appreciate them. You may not be able to donate a favorite, as food banks are greatly limited in what they can distribute, so consider donating the ingredients. Alternatively, call your local food bank and ask what they need. They may have enough food staples, but need things like condiments or mixes. Nonperishable donations are typically more welcome than perishable items, and may be all they can accept from individuals. For a list of the items most needed by most food banks, take a look at http://www.sandiegofoodbank.org/needed.html.
Another way to help is to volunteer. Homeless shelters and battered women’s shelters can always use help. Many battered women have nothing but the clothes on their backs, and desperately need all kinds of supplies. If you would like to help, check http://www.katesfeminist.info/dv/help/a-m.html for a list of some shelters nationwide. Homeless families may have little more. For more information, check with your local homeless shelters or with the Red Cross at http://www.redcross.org/donate/volunteer/. These are all people who, without help, will miss out on even the smallest parts of this holiday season.
Taking the time to show your children that you care about the world you live in is a lesson they will never forget, and remind them of the true meaning of the holidays. Whether you donate goods, money or time, you will make a difference in your children’s lives and the lives of those in need.

State Minimums
- Bodily Injury Liability (BIL): $10,000/$20,000 Limit
- Property Damage Liability (PDL): $10,000 Limit
The state of Florida observes a No-Fault auto insurance system implying your insurance firm will repay the costs for your injury claims disregarding fault, up to a specific limit. Since neither party is found to be at fault, you wind up losing a few of your legal rights to litigate with a no-fault system. Specifics of a no-fault system vary from state to state.
Personal Injury Protection (PIP) covers the costs incurred for all those involved in an accident. Florida has legally required minimums that every single driver is mandated to have under state law. These requisites are $10,000 for one person and $20,000 for everyone involved. These are only Florida state directed minimums and each motorists should look over their own requirements to go over how much auto insurance protection is right for you.
You can obtain Uninsured Motorist to your Florida auto insurance policy in order to compensate for bodily injury caused by an underinsured motorist (depending on the state). Underinsured Driver insurance policy is not demanded in Florida, but if you don’t purchase it and are in an auto accident with an uninsured driver, you may end up paying for all of the medical expenses.
People in Florida paid an average of just over $1100 for their auto insurance policy in 2003. That same year, the national average was nearly $200 lower. There are lots of Floridians who incorrectly take for granted that they have no way of getting lower their insurance rate. Every Last auto insurance company has a slighly different mode of computing a person’s auto insurance premium so rates will vary by customer. You have to watch to check if you are saving money or overpaying. One way of getting cheaper insurance is to use insurance comparison websites. These insurance sites will permit you promptly get and get quotes from a bunch of insurance companies.
In 2007, there was an average decrease of .5%-1% from 2006. This was the first decrease in insurance costs since 1999. However, these reductions were short lived as in 2008 and 2009, auto insurance costs again started to climb. Unless you’re on a regular basis looking for the lowest rates, you’re more times than not shelling out too much. auto insurance costs. You might be able to receive lower auto insurance rates at another auto insurance underwriter and/or find that you’re eligible for select auto insurance deductions.

When to Go
The sailing season in Greece lasts from March to early November. During the Spring months, the weather during the day varies from cool to warm and is usually cool at night. The sea temperature is not usually suitable for swimming until the middle of May and then you can swim right through to the middle of October. The months of May, June, September and October usually have warm to hot daytime temperatures and pleasant temperatures at night. There are good winds at this time, but they are often variable. In July and August there are stronger winds, particularly in the Cyclades islands. Spring and Autumn are the most popular seasons for yacht chartering in Greece because this is when the climate is most suitable and there are far fewer tourists on the mainland and on the islands, than in high Summer.
Deciding on the Type of Charter
There are many options to choose from and when planning your trip you should consider the following questions. How many people will be in your party and will they require single or double berths aboard? Do you require a sailing yacht, a motor yacht or a motorsailer? What level of comfort do you want aboard? Will you require a skipper? If you require a bareboat (i.e. you intend to do the sailing yourself, without a skipper or other professional crew aboard), what size of yacht are you experienced in handling? Remember that European regulations, require that two qualified people be aboard. Another option is to sail in a group or flotilla of other boats. These can be a combination of bareboat and skippered yachts, and can provide you with the right balance of educational support and local knowledge.
Length of Trip
In order to get the most out of a yacht charter, the minimum length of trip should be about 7 days. As for the maximum amount of time, that is up to you. Many companies will offer discounts for longer charters. Good charter companies will have lots of local knowledge on the best routes and places to visit, and will work with you to agree an itinerary, which suits your needs. Remember that you do not have to spend your entire holiday aboard the boat. You could arrange a couple of days at the beginning or end of your charter to explore the mainland. It is well worth spending at least two or three days in Athens – a wonderful city, which unfortunately is often side-stepped by people who head straight for the islands.
